Sometimes referred to as a "confetti light", this Oil Lamp is turned from a piece of Colorado Beetle-Kill Pine.

This functional and decorative oil lamp measures roughly 5" high by 4 1/4" wide. A hand rubbed oil, poly, and wax finish gives this item a beautiful luster. (Includes glass paraffin reservoir & chimney, and instructions).

This oil lamp can use standard pure paraffin oil (scented or unscented) which is readily available at most hardware stores, department stores, grocery stores, candle shops, etc., or even citronella oil as a bug deterrent out on the deck (although, not recommended to leave outside, as the weather may deteriorate the finish).

About the wood:

Beetle-kill pine, or blue-stain wood, develops dark colored streaks in the wood that is caused by fungus carried by the pine beetle. The result is a beautiful blonde colored pine with bluish-black streaks that make the wood very unique.

Compared to Canada and other states with more established lumber industries, Colorado has smaller mills, fewer logging roads and skinnier diameter trees. The end result for Colorado is a smaller variety of finished beetle-kill wood products. My supply of the beetle-kill pine is very limited, so once these items are gone, I do not know when I will be able to acquire more.
